CHAPTER 7
THE SHADOW OF BLACK LIGHT
As knowledge increased former beliefs were
discarded (such as the theory of a father's faults being
passed on to his progeny). The recognition that each
individual was solely responsible for his or her own
cosmic destiny, progress depending on personal effort,
became firmly established.
This led to great stress being placed on the
controlled thinking of the
prospective mother, it having been positively proven that
prenatal
influence played a major role in human progress. Women
attained far
greater respect in the communities of Khe than ever
before. Formal
feminine education ended in the tenth year, at which time
the girls were
returned to their homes to learn the arts of womanhood,
and oh! what a
crowning achievement this can be.
Women were taught to cook and sew; to relax,
to play, to rejoice, to
serve, and above all to pray and meditate on all aspects
of Spirit Supreme.
Mere men meanwhile concentrated on carrying
out experiments in magnetic
vibrational powers and the like. New fields for
exploration were
regularly unfolding, but always a selected few were
trained from
earliest childhood in the art of transition and astral
travel. The
impracticability of general training for all became
evident as the
spiritually dominated lost all desire for practical
progress, and
harmony of development along many paths of endeavour was
obviously
desirable.
Furthermore, the presence of a separate
spiritual mind -- quite apart
from the physical brain in each person was not yet
positively
established. Science had a little further to go in this
respect.
The policy of three "minds" was
accepted as the fundamental base for
further study. Up until now it was known that a single
human being was
governed by a mechanical brain that had no form of
expression except
through the conscious mind and the physical aura.
This memory centre had the ability to be aware
of its own actions and
to express emotion in colour, while the conscious
expressed thought in
both action and conscious emotion.
It was also definite that the emotional colour
scintillating in the
physical aura reflected permanently on the second aura,
gradually
darkening its original hue.
Emotion, not thought, was known to be the
trigger for the various
chemical reactions within the body, as each of the
chemical glands react
to different vibrations per second. It followed
therefore, that varied
emotions cause vibration at different speeds, rarely
blossoming into
full intensity in an instant -- but increasing in speed
along the way.
This led directly into the field of biochemistry, its
relationship to
energy, and to the final conviction that chemicals are
natural energy
triggers, natures' watchdogs, alerted to prevent
confusion, and as far
as possible, give self-control to matter. Drugs become
extremely
dangerous when viewed from this aspect, as each foreign
chemical
formula introduced into the system interferes with the
specific
function of one of natures' watchdogs.
Whenever matter is transformed from one form
to another there is first
a chemical reaction to neutralize the existing chemical,
then, as the
new substance develops, an additive is required to
restabilize.
Usually the neutralizing effect comes about through heat
(motion) or
pressure (motion), (both of which deny the existence of
water) as tiny
particles rush about to reform, marry, divide, etc., to
control the
newly introduced substance.
From this it was learned that chemicals have
no vibrational power or
phellons of their own, but adopt those of the substances
which they
control, thereby maintaining control by releasing, as a
trigger, larger
quantities of phellons into the substance, or extracting
sufficient
quantities to slow the vibrational action of the
substance.
In one instance the trigger might cause the
substance to vibrate itself
into a new form, while in the other to slow its growth to
non-existence.
It is because natural chemicals have no
personal phellons that they
have no energy or vibrational powers of their own, thus
can be
considered an essence of nature with no personal
existence and are
disseminable.
The chemist holds the balance of nature in his
hands, a tremendous
responsibility to create or destroy. the chemist might
realise too, that
his is not the only field of endeavour or responsibilty,
as chemistry
is easily and quickly destroyed out of existence.
But I wander from the substance of my
narrative. We were discussing the
progress of my people (prior to my birth) which was
taught in Suerne
prior to the trip Zadius and I made to Atlantis. To this
point I have
related sections of pertinent documents which were
required study, and
showed how former Khe'ans had overcome superstition and
fictional
beliefs in learning to distinguish between fact and fancy.
Following the completion of the Abwa
experiment yet another series of
instruments was devised, capable of measuring emotional
diffusion and
comparing the results with aural reactions. This gave a
complete
cross-reference of emotional reaction and enabled experts
to subject any
person to tests which accurately predicted their reaction
to any set of
circumstances.
Faith follows no set path of emotional
reaction, but influences all
emotion at will. It is capable of enhancing emotion to a
height of
ecstasy, the last step in the ladder leading to true love.
In the field of magnetic vibrations, other
energy computers, able to
gage and reproduce higher vibrational scales up to 414 x
10/13
(opposites) were developed, producing patterns which led
researchers
into the range of "Black Light" -- and in turn
to great forward strides
in many scientific fields.
Experiment followed experiment in this vast
new area as many fine minds
ventured beyond the now-open door. Early convictions,
strengthened by
complimentary documentation, indicated diabolical destiny
for mankind if
any probed too deeply into "Black Light" -- for
here begins the realm of
natures' opposites, antagonistic to all natural life.
The groups dealing solely with brain and mind
research, when
investigating the scale of "Black Light", found
that its influence could
cause pregnant women to give birth to badly deformed and
retarded
children. Throw backs to very early man were not uncommon
indicating
that perhaps humanity had not yet established a staple
pattern of
reproduction, and adding authenticity or otherwise to
theories regarding
the form of early man.
Chemists discovered that certain combinations
in their phials could
upset the balance of the vibrational systems of pregnant
women so that
their emotions could become dimmed to non-existence, or
greatly
heightened; producing in every instance monstrous
infants, children only
partly formed, horribly malformed, disease ridden or
imbecilic. They
were able to predict the type of malformity by the
maternal emotion
chart. Suernian files carried many pictures of such
pitiful bodies --
which led to the permanent banning of all experiments in
the field of
"Black Light". And for many years this veto was
respected.
Mention must be made, that one result of the
efforts of the original
defiant twelve Metaphysicians, was the introduction of a
certain
elasticity into Khe Law, in that any law could be
modified as new
discoveries indicated the need for addition or
subtraction.
The early pioneers had proven that certain tests
conducted "outside the
law" might have value, and it had since been
possible to apply to the
High Council for permission to experiment. This permit
could be
rescinded in whole or in part at any time. The aim was to
ensure that
learning would not be retarded. But any such
investigations were done
under conditions of absolute secrecy and the results went
unpublished.
Prior to this modification of the Law, all
scientists were entitled to
full information and accurate records on any findings.
The Law read that it was the right of every citizen to be
given full
knowledge on any subject desired, and teachers held
nothing back.
Unfortunately, this revision of the Law,
combined with the now
acceptable system of substitute teachers in the halls of
learning,
became the groundwork for the rise of class distinction
among my people.
The insidious tentacles of inequality, the ego-delight --
of "I have
secret knowledge" later spread to each trade.
Professionals began to
retain their own secrets and took pride in cloistered
cliquery -- but
this trend came much later.
Although investigations into Black Light were
halted in Khe, such was
not the case in Atlantis where science had progressed
along somewhat
different lines. While Suernians were unquestionably
ahead in the study
of Man, the Atlanteans had placed greater emphasis on the
development
of material, practical inventions and technical
advancements such as the
monorail and similar engineering marvels which were
enough to make any
Khe'an gasp in awe. Gadgets, similar to the electrical
appliances in
Twentieth century homes abounded. Atlantean architects
were incredibly
advanced; horticultural and artistic plans were superior
to those of
Suerne where simplicity of living was the keynote.
For many years the governments of Khe and
Atlantis had maintained
more than a passing acquaintance, mainly fostered by
exchange
students, the great majority of whom were young Suernians
who went to
Atlantis for more advanced technological studies.
Tribes from all over the known world sent
students to Atlantis, and
these returned home to tell of the marvels of Atlantean
culture.
Small tribes usually sent one or two
representatives each year or two
for a definite period of time, with instructions from
their elders to
learn as much as possible about as many subjects as
possible in the
allotted time. On returning to their own lands these
students became
teachers, but were allowed to teach only those things
which the
elders considered best fitted the requirements of their
people and
their way of life.
These students had a very good time in
Atlantis, mainly concentrating
on those subjects which they felt would be most
acceptable to the
elders. Thus lesser cultures based on the most
spectacular aspects of
Atlantean culture mushroomed in the surrounding countries.
This happened
particularly to the west, where a few brilliant young
Aztecs started a
culture that endured for many centuries, showing itself
as a very
strange mixture of both Atlantean and Khe culture, with a
strong
emphasis on the later though the architectural style was
strictly
Atlantean.
Being much larger than many of the Atlantean
neighbouring states, Khe
regularly sent selected young men trained for a specific
profession from
infancy, and well steeped in Khe tradition before being
subjected to
higher education. These students had a full working
knowledge of Khe's
development as outlined heretofore, plus some theoretic
understanding of
the latest discoveries in their own selected field of
endeavour.
There was never any lack of co-operation
between the two countries. Two
thousands years before my time, Khe was recognised by
Atlanteans as
being far superior in mental and ethereal practises, to
the extent
where Suernian teachers were invited to the Atlantean
capital to
instruct groups of high officials in these arts.
However, Atlanteans had not been idle in brain
research. Indeed many
of the operational techniques and instruments mentioned
beforehand were
first introduced in Khe by former Atlantean scholars. The
major
diversion of development lay in the fact that where
prayer and
meditation had directed Khe to an instinctive knowledge
of Truth, the
Atlanteans following a more rigid path of medical
science, which gave
more factual evidence, lacked true insight of the very
depth of
spiritual science.
Joy through adoration was a mystery in
Atlantis. Achievement without
joy and adoration seemed purposeless in Khe.
This was the main reason why Atlantis never
gave up the reincarnation
theory, after all it seemed a simple answer to much that
could not be
explained.
