CHAPTER 2

ANTS & AMAZONS

Concentrate for awhile on the force of the "Big Bang" that exploded the Universe into the forms we see today. Picture the Universal litter it caused, shattering the original sphere into billions of fragments which hurtled in all directions flinging off molten debris. Such was the energy output of Supreme Being when He created the Earth.

This energy flowed in waves from source, slowing down in frequency as they lengthened out to reach the outer edges of His Domain.

At this time, by simple decree, The Master caused the most remote portion of His vibratory potential to become a distinctive force designed to create protenegic order out of chaos. On Earth we refer to this suburban fringe of the Universal Metropolis, as Nature; all things natural can exist only within this particular band of vibration.

Spirit allowed Nature to be self-governing, to evolve its own laws, until such time as Nature produced specimens suitable for spiritual development on each globe. It was intended that the gift of spirit (high frequency thought-wave potential) would improve natural creatures, making the chosen specimens wiser than all others and masters of all others; and the returning spirit would be versed in physical matters, much like a child being sent off to kindergarten.

The diversity of natural development of different planets is a fascinating subject and one which will always hold a great deal of interest for animal man.

As time is of little concern to Deity, who thinks in terms of Infinity, The Master patiently watched and waited for suitable specimens to evolve on each planet; as a wise Earthly father might stand by, allowing his child to fashion toys of its own imagination 'till the child learned through experience to correct its errors.

In the case of Earth it is interesting to note that three earlier species had risen and declined before homo sapiens began to emerge as the predominant form of animal life. Had man's curiosity of palate not tempted him to become omnivorous it is possible that the canine species of early days might have outstripped him intellectually, for it took great cunning to outwit stronger specimens, and the more man's gourmet instinct grew, the more his diversity of knowledge expanded.

Loliad has supplied some illustrations of mankind's early development and the remarkable adaptations in his form.

On Vringg, as previously mentioned in the introduction to THE INNER POWER, The spiritual beings are ant-like, and far older than man; that is, they were among the first natural species to receive spirit.

There is another race suitable for explanatory purposes; one which has a most remarkable history of evolutionary progress, and is much closer to Earth geographically than Vringg. We would do well to note its precepts, for without stirring from their observatories the people on Planet "X" could blow our globe to smithereens if they so desired.

On Planet "X" the original dominant species received none of the setbacks encountered by homo sapiens in our atmosphere. As a result they are some seventy thousand years ahead of man in natural and technological advancement.

It pleased The Master to leave these people strictly to Nature until a very late date in their evolution, for the simplicity of the lives of the inhabitants of Vringg and their supreme content had hampered technical progress. The strong would willingly die for their fellows in an emergency and the prospect of life beyond physical existence was often so pleasing that self protection was given little consideration. The driving forces of natural fear and ego never became prominent. Governed by Love and the certain knowledge of Eternal Justice the Vringgs were perfectly happy to remain in their original state. In receiving the gift of Spirit too soon, social and natural progress on Vringg was eliminated.

Planet "X" represents the very opposite end of the "Spiritual Pole". This species' extremely keen animal intelligence and fine physique was improved generation by generation because of total adherence to natural law ... "Survival of the Fittest" and eugenic selection.

In this manner, disease, inferior mentality and physique, any form of natural inadequacy was bred out of the species. Conform to the accepted standards of Natural Law or perish, was the only form of justice understood.

Quite early in their development the "X'ians" used an isolation system for controlling infectious diseases without the use of drugs. Anyone showing the first symptoms of infection would automatically go to the designated isolation area where simple sanitary facilities were provided. Either he or she fought and conquered the illness by natural resistance (which had been highly developed and utilized since birth) or perished. Harsh treatment but highly successful, for all who returned had further built-in immunity to pass on to future generations. Eventually all communicable disease was wiped out.

Any imperfections which showed up in a family or group were immediately halted by sterilization. Social organizations were nonexistent and totally unnecessary. Sentimentality was unknown. Produce and conform --or starve; was the accepted order ... as it is among Earthly species of nonspiritual animal life.

There was never any unnecessary killing or wanton destruction; never cruelty for the sake of cruelty. No recourse to the wasteful warlike methods which Earthman uses to skim the cream off the milk of physical perfection. Natural logic alone was used to control degenerative processes.

Originally the states on Planet "X" were operated much like our insect colonies on Earth today, the weaker kept in total subservience to the strong. Many of these people were occupied as game wardens; every acre of the global surface was kept under surveillance and life cycles were recorded. All lesser life forms on the planet were kept under tight control. Huge laboratories kept insect populations balanced by releasing the natural enemies of any which might gain numerical ascendency ... thus working with, not against nature to maintain control. Conservation was an exact science ... waste unthinkable ... for all people fully understood and respected natural law.

Many hundreds of years ago the "X'ians" were technically advanced to the point where their space craft commanded the skies in our galaxy. They could skim over the surface of all the worlds about them to observe progress. Scientifically speaking homo sapiens is comparatively infantile. Long before Earthly explorers were discovering the "New World" our neighbours on "X" were examining the "New Constellations", even collecting specimens for their museums.

About this time the states on Planet "X" united under one Central Government without argument or fuss in order to benefit by maximum efficiency of organization and administration. Having gained the ultimate in technical and natural advancement, and understanding the high frequency range of nature's opposites, it became increasingly apparent that the weird creatures on other planets must also be progressing along similar lines. Observation heightened these conclusions.

For centuries it had been obvious that domination of Earth or any of the other worlds in surrounding galaxies would have been a simple matter... but to what purpose? Controlled breeding had eliminated all forms of want. To the "X'ians" conquest of Earth would have been much like mankind seeking to dominate a planet populated with hideous disease-ridden creatures of inferior intelligence - not worth the effort and liable to bring a crop of virus infections which might possibly wipe out the whole population. Suspicion, diplomacy, and deviation of thought was quite irrelevant to the "X'ian" way of life ... where is the sense in accumulating more than one requires when without ego? And the element of curiosity had long since been satiated. Earth could have been destroyed in moments by "X'ian" defence weapons which operated on principles similar to those which crack a crystal goblet when a soprano hits high "C" without even the risk of approaching this globe.

Yet fear began to creep into the minds of the intelligentsia on Planet "X" giving them no peace; for the more they learned about natural forces the more they became aware of forces far greater than anything nature knew. They trembled at the figures their instruments showed in even trying to estimate the V.P.S. (vibrations per second) of these unknown forms of energy. They realised too, that beyond this scale there must eventually be Ultimate Energy ... that incomprehensible power which holds the very constellations in position throughout the Universe.

The natural brilliance of "X'ian" scientists was such that they instantly recognised the futility of trying to compete with this invisible Omnipotence which might some day burst upon their planet; yet their sound reasoning deduced that were this force destructive all lesser life would have fallen before it long since. Encouraged by this realization the "X'ians" spent further periods in intensive study. They observed the beauty and order of the Universe, the perfect rhyme and rhythm of Creation ... and saw that this was good.

And Deity chose another method of giving spirit to these people ... bestowing radiance in one sheer burst of glory; for the carnal thought speed was capable of complete and total acceptance of the miracle called love, which up 'till then had been an unknown element. To nature's ultimate creation, the capacity for spiritual emotion which transformed a well ordered existence to vibrant joyous living, was welcomed with passionate celebration. Worship of the Father-Mother Creator remains the most essential part of daily living on Planet "X".

A whole new terminology came into being to express these new-life emotions. Fear vanished as they accepted the glorious assurance that the Universe was governed by laws of love and fellowship. Anxious to explore with this new insight to colour their discoveries, "X'ian" space ships again took off to visit some of the other planets after observation confirmed that these people too understood the Divine Law... and Earth was bypassed, viewed with deep compassion by the "X'ians" when they saw that Earthlings still lived in the dark ages of suspicion and mistrust, and would look upon them as "the enemy" and not "new friends".

Mankind has yet to learn that carnal dominance is passe. The physical mind doesn't thirst for love, truth and justice; fancy manners aside, the animal wants anything that will gratify its self image. As Earthlings, any yearning for fair play originates in the supernatural mind, which when free of suppression will illuminate and eradicate carnal frailty.

Vringg and "X" represent two of The Master's experimental extremes. How blessed are Earth dwellers; how supremely fortunate to be the race selected for the harmonious development of physical and spiritual qualities. How gracefully each can compliment the other with wise usage. Had mankind been fully aware of The Master Plan at the time of Adam, the first human being, we would still have been happily pottering around in our garden of Eden without so much as a fig leaf. Though without spirit we could never have developed a super civilization similar to the "X'ians" because of overpowering ego ... man's unique barrier, which excludes all clarity of vision and defeats joint progressive enterprises.

From this time forward, the sheer wisdom of Omnipotence will lead willing Earthlings into the path of harmony; spiritual development occurring side by side with evolutionary and scientific advances ... the centre path of co-existence. Many thousands of years ago the people of Suerne and Atlantis were further advanced along this road than modern man is today; until they stumbled into the natural explosive process of black light, and reduced their civilization to ashes ... all because of the scientific pride of a handful of men.

Ego is again pushing mankind close to catastrophe ... either we each recognise the enemy within or obliterate our species.

For Deity says ... "This is my chosen generation". Technically you have advanced far enough to conquer all the problems on your sphere. There is enough to sustain all Earth's inhabitants in plenty. In permitting rapid natural progress I have allowed the sacrifice of faster spiritual development; now you are an unbalanced people and I will no longer permit this situation to exist. Through My servant, all who are willing to understand will be given sufficient knowledge to get started on the path of spiritual evolution in terms that none can fail to recognise. Each spiritual-physical being has free will to choose between two paths. There is nothing for the apathetic ... neither a rewarding physical life nor full joy in Eternity. Science, which should be aiding natural progress is largely defeating its purpose. In confusing Me with nature, it dares even suggest some alignment with Deity in prolonging the life and reproductory span of the animal. Nature wants quality of homo sapiens, I want perfect homes for My spiritual children, that they may learn easily. Quantity is the concern of neither. "Let there be harmony".

Planet "X" was brought to a halt when excessive fear began to warp carnal minds well developed by natural evolution. They were able to accept supernatural logic readily when it was offered... for the "X'ian" ego was minimal compared with that of homo sapiens. This was because they had not encountered the early setbacks which hampered the human race and excessive ego was never essential to their survival.

Mankind on the other hand, having such powerful obstacles to overcome in his rise to supremacy has of necessity evolved an ego beyond the proportions of any other natural species. It grips his mentality, twisting his viewpoint almost to the verge of insanity; until there are very few people able to accept information without first turning it over to Ego for scrutiny.

See Ego as a powerful black panther, crouched at the entrance to the dim cavern of the physical mind; pouncing on every piece of information tossed its way by the five senses. Watch this beast, salivating at the jowl, ready to tear apart any item which might cause it to lose face, cast light upon its storehouse of secrets, or which would even hint that it is not the all-powerful guardian of the carnal mentality. Observe this panther, poised, ready to spring when its territory is invaded by the suggestion of selfless motivation; yet eager for knowledge which it might use to magnify its own sense of importance; hear it growl its perpetual Good Friday theme ... "Destroy this thing that I do not understand ... fight it with ridicule first, and if it persists, kill; for I am the supreme commander of this human being, it is a slave to my whim. If spiritual logic is allowed to prevail I will become less ... Ego the servant ... I will fight to the bitter end to retain my grasp".

When the mind first turns to spiritual matters the adroit dexterity with which Ego conducts its campaign for mastery is almost beyond belief. It soothes the individual into complacency, suggesting a hundred reasons why reform should be postponed to a more convenient time, and having won this first little point sweeps on to more forceful argument each time the infantile spirit raises the subject again. It points with pride to all its factual knowledge. It raises diversions to avoid closer examination of spiritual logic. If these tactics are of no avail out come Ego's invincible weapons ... its stored knowledge of the animal likes and dislikes to woo the victim, and the initial victory is assured.

It is therefore essential to start the battle with self knowledge ... awareness of the tactics to be employed by the lower self. Firm commitment and constant prayer to the Powerhouse of Spirit is the key to conquest. To imagine for one moment that success will come unaided is to admit defeat, to succumb to Ego's favourite plea.

The higher the physical intelligence at Ego's command the more forceful its tactics. A consummate liar, glib, unconscionable, convincing, seductive, indefatigable, Ego, the Master Artist, clothes its vicelike grip in a velvet glove and enslaves the human race.

St. Paul knew Ego. His description of his struggle for self mastery tears at the heart strings. In Romans seven, he tells how perfectly happy he was living by the dictates of the lower self, doing just what he liked when he liked ... with no awareness that this was wrong. v. 9, 10.

"For I was alive without the law once, but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died ... and the commandment which was ordained to life I found to be deathly".

But when Spirit illuminated his errors Ego began its battle. v. 11, 25.

For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me. Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just and good. Was then that which was good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceedingly sinful. For we know that the law is spiritual; but I am carnal, sold unto sin. For that which I do I allow not; for what I would, that I do not; but what I hateth I do. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in my flesh dwelleth no good thing; for the will is present within me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would do I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man. But But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the Law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Recognition and humility ... how could anyone who knows and loves St. Paul ever confuse Nature with Deity after an explanation like this? No one wants to shrug off the comfort of selfish existence ... admit it! The carnal mind knows full well that it cannot participate in Eternal Life so naturally seeks a fleshy goal ... seeks to mock Spirit who has said "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the Earth" ... admit that intelligence says "Foolish are the meek, they'll get nowhere on this Earth, and I can show you a thousand examples to prove it". It is well to remember this point. Deity did not say that the meek would inherit special places in after life, this is granted to the pure in heart. He said in effect "I will tear down the egotistic, and give the Earth to the humble who have conquered the lower self, risen above mere intelligence".

... these things shall be.

Ego suggests to the individual "My ideology is superior, my standards higher, my failings more excusable, my perception clearer". The Bible says "All have fallen and come short of the Glory of God". There are no exceptions to this rule; recognise yourself for what you are, a dual entity of frail carnality and impoverished spirit.

Vastly superior spiritual beings living on billions of other planets humbly acknowledge this fact every day of their lives, and in glimpsing new facets of His Perfection worship more ardently than before.

The urge to explore outer space is our twentieth century objective, affording an opportunity for one nation's prestige to outshine anothers; to prove its technical superiority and thus the supposed superiority of its political system.

Is the duplication of effort logical? ... Ego aside. Is it sane? While millions of Earth's people cry out for sustenance and are tossed sparse crumbs from national purses, these same coffers pour out billions to foster fratricidal strife. Fear drains the energy and resources of every nation. Space projects even now consume only a fraction of the ultimate cost for final victory, even if humanity learns to approach this task by the more practical method of harnessing weightlessness or levitation as it is called in psychic circles.

Ego has lead mankind to madness: It will never be satiated. It can devour our civilization if uncontrolled ... the writing is on the wall... any unbiased mind can interpret the message.

Earth's antipollution experts, the horticulturalists, the conservationists, are unsung. The Physicist is the national hero, just slightly below the astronaut in terms of public homage. Which fields then will attract the greatest amount of youthful brilliance? The progressive or prestige professions? We are striving in the wrong direction. Inhumanity cannot be conquered without expending every effort; this is no time to be reaching out for the moon.

Are we ready for the responsibilities of landing on other planets? The risk of interplanetary infection holds grave disaster. Our neighbours on nearby planets would gladly die rather than subject mankind to such risks. Do we pause to consider the damage we might cause them?

The initial steps are blatantly obvious. Before we, as Earthlings take on the new and perhaps terrible obligations of space exploration let us find reason; stop rushing in where angels fear to tread. Let us take a long appraising look at this wonderful species which we pride.

Personal examination must lead to collective national introspection and rejection of immature leadership. Unity of thought and expression should be the first goal of our species, something that can never come about while we fret over the moat in the other man's eye whilst blind to the beam in our own.

What does each person require of life on Earth? Peace, plenty, justice, harmony of living? ... and what do the underprivileged want? exactly these same things. There could be more than enough to go around if luxury for the few was curbed. Without the assurance that life's good things are available for all there can be no justice on Earth, no lasting peace, no genuine Christianity.

The black panther will writhe and snarl horribly when it realises that this is the way things must be; go into a wild frenzy at the prospect of equal distribution. Self interest will shudder at the thought of sharing what it has with others, and in some, scheme to excuse its reaction by tossing a few extra crumbs from its table in order that it can glow with pride at its feeling of generosity, positively purr with the feeling of selfrighteousness. Yet it is written in St. Paul that unless the motivation be purely selfless even offering the body to be burned reaps no spiritual benefit.

It is wise therefore to tackle the carnal self and clarify its motivations before attempting anything more ambitious, for it is possible to spend a whole lifetime imitating "goodness" without ever being aware of error. The shock of realization at the time of judgement on seeing a lifetime of effort wasted must be grim.

There can be no half measures. In "THE INNER POWER" we try to show the hopelessness of trying to conquer the carnal with fleeting determination to improve. The lower self revels in physical pleasure. It is flatly impossible for the spirit to strive alone. Teach it liberation through meditation, locate its guide and use this added insight to persistently unmask the idolatrous physical preconscious mind; shatter its delusions of its own goodness and infallibility.

Homo sapiens is, always has been, and always will be instinctively animal in his reasoning.

Spirit alone is good.
